CHE HUSNA AZHARI
Che Husna Azhari was born on the 8th of November 1955 in Melor, Kelantan, Malaysia, the setting of many of her early short stories. Although she has written many other stories in many other settings, albeit still in the Nusantara, many in the field still refers to her as the "Kelantan Writer". Che Husna went to TUnku Kurshiah College, Seremban for her secondary education before continuing he education in the United Kingdom (UK); from A-Levels until Ph.D. She graduated from Brunel University twice; in 1979 for her BTech and again in 1985 fro her PhD. She published her first collection of short stories "An Anthology of Kelantan Tales" in 1992 and has consistently written.
Che Husna is Professor of Materials at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), specialising in non-metallic materials processing. She lives with her family in Pinggiran Putrajaya in her house Gul-e-Stan, named in honour of Dr. Azam Ayahtollahi's house in Pinner.
